A Merseybeat singer has passed on after apparently experiencing coronavirus. Cy Tucker, 77, kicked the bucket on Tuesday in the wake of becoming sick with the indications of Covid-19 every week prior to, the Liverpool Echo detailed. The Liverpool performer was a piece of the city's Merseybeat scene and acted in the bars and clubs in the city for around 60 years. With band Earl Preston and the TTs, he played on line-ups close by the Beatles during the 1960s. Mr Tucker's family told the Echo: "What makes his misfortune much more awful is the way that it could have been so handily maintained a strategic distance from had it not been for coronavirus. "In under seven days we have gone from having a sound and enthusiastic man to one who is never again here." Tributes were paid to Mr Tucker from individual artists. Vocalist Ian Prowse composed on Facebook: "So sorry to learn about Cy Tucker leaving us, anybody in Liverpool could enlighten you concerning this Merseybeat legend. "Spent such a significant number of Sunday evenings in the Big House tuning in to him engage the individuals of this city. "On the off chance that this doesn't make you wake up to CV-19 nothing will. "Keep rockin up there enormous fella." Talking on BBC Radio Merseyside, DJ Frankie Connor stated: "He was a genuine powerhouse of an artist and an extraordinary person also." An announcement on the Facebook page of the Cavern Club stated: "We are dismal to know about the death of Liverpool and Merseybeat legend Cy Tucker. "Cy was at the front line of the Merseybeat sound, playing The Cavern ordinarily with Earl Preston and the TTs. "Our contemplations are with his family and friends and family as of now."
